We need to demand an international investigation and a Honduran one with the resources demanded by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The people of Triunfo de la Cruz have seized a portion of the CA13 highway to demand this.

“Alert !!, we have ben informed that vehicles with heavily armed people are entering the community of Triunfo de la Cruz at night, they are generating terror. The Court’s ruling establishes that the state must guarantee the peace and security of the community. Compliance NOW!”

Sneider Centeno, the president of the Garifuna Patronato (governing body) of Triunfo de la Cruz, was kidnapped early this morning along with 4 other members of the patronato, including Milton Martinez and Suany Alvarez, each taken from their house. Centeno was working on getting the Honduran government to comply with the IDH court sentence against it. The armed men wore bullet proof vests with DPI of the National Police written on them but their car had no license plate and the military is looking for them. This story is now out in the international media: Deutche Welle in Germany, La Jornada in Mexico, France24 and MSN Microsoft which picked up the article from La Jornada. A German member of parliament asked for an immediate comitment from the Honduran government. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has condemned the kidnapping and demanded that Honduras provide the necessary investigative resources.

Snider Centeno has been kidnapped. He is the president of the Patronato of Triunfo de la Cruz, a Garifuna community, who obtained a ruling in their favor from the Inter-American Court of Human Rights ( @CorteIDH ) in 2015. They are waiting on sentence compliance. Snider was taken from his home at 6 a.m. (7/18/2020) by a group of men wearing bulletproof vests.
Hay que exigir una investigacion internacional y una investigacion hondureña con recursos como lo pide la Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos. La gente de Triunfo de la Cruz tomaron la CA13 para insistir sobre una investigacion.

Informes muy inquietantes de la comunidad de Triunfo de la Cruz en Honduras durante el fin de semana.
Sneider Centeno, presidente del patronato garifuna de Triunfo de la Cruz, fue secuestrado temprano esta mañana, con 4 otros miembros del patronato, incluyendo Milton Martinez y Suany Alvarez, cada uno desde su casa. Centeno estuvo trabajando sobre el cumplimiento de la sentencia de la corte IDH contra Honduras. Los hombres armados llevaban chalecos antibalas mostrando DPI de la Policia Nacional, pero su coche era sin placa y los militares estan buscandolos. Ya el evento esta en la prensa internacional: Deutche Welle de Alemania, La Jornada de Mexico, France24 y MSN Microsoft que retomo el articulo de La Jornada. Un diputado aleman pidio un compromiso inmediato del gobierno hondureño. La Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos en Honduras (OACNUDH) condena y insta al gobierno a que participan unidades especializadas en la investigacion.
