Cuba and Haiti: The Stench of U.S. Imperialism

The recent assassination of the U.S. puppet President Jovenel Moise in Haiti and the counter-revolutionary activity in Cuba has a familiar smell. A rot, a stench that fouls the air. It is the reeking of U.S. imperialism. While details of the assassination are still unfolding, it’s well documented that the U.S. has a history of documented interference in both nations. These imperialist actions in Cuba and Haiti are part of an ongoing U.S. aggression in the region. . . .

Haiti’s White Rulers Have Spoken on Haiti’s Political Future

The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) condemns the arrogance and illegality of United Nations Special Envoy for Haiti Helen La Lime’s July 8 statement that Haitian Prime Minister Claude Joseph will be the new president, just one day after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. The decision was announced to the press after a closed-door UN Security Council meeting had been called on Haiti. But BAP asks: Who gave the United Nations special envoy the power to make that kind of determination for the people of Haiti? This sounds like a play right out of the old regime-change book. Cuba: Fighting Corona and Blockade Simultaneously

On June 29th, 2021 at the United Nations General Assembly 184 nations overwhelmingly and democratically, cast their votes against the US blockade on Cuba, which represented a voting pattern that has been on display for the last 29 years. Regardless of this sentiment, the United States and Israel stubbornly stuck to their guns. Only three nations Colombia, Ukraine, and Brazil abstained from voting.  While the United Nations as a body is not in a position to enforce this vote, it provides an invaluable platform that captures the mood and sentiment of an entire planet. How this vote differentiated from the . . .

Permanent Mission of Cuba Statement on July 11

Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations  The disturbances and incidents that took place in some localities in Cuba, on 11 July, are the result of a plan designed by the government of the United States to opportunistically exert the greatest possible pressure against our country, at a time when we are facing a complex situation derived from 16 months of confronting the pandemic and its current resurgence, in addition to the severe tightening of the blockade and the brutal restrictions imposed on the Cuban people.  This has seriously affected the normal functioning of the Cuban economy by critically . . .

Haitian American Karine Jean Pierre, principal deputy press secretary for the Biden White House

Biden is Anti-Haiti, and His Haitian-American Press Person Doesn’t Give a Damn

On Wednesday May 26, 2021 Haitian American Karine Jean Pierre, principal deputy press secretary for the Biden White House, took the podium to address questions from the press. Because the corporate Democratic Party establishment realizes that showcasing racial diversity is necessary in the face of its almost 30 year history of supporting bone crushing policies like NAFTA, GATT, financial deregulation, and the 1994 Crime Bill, Democrats use demonstrations of neo-liberal diversity as their only talisman to keep the fealty of their more ethnically diverse constituency. . . .

The Assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse

For Immediate Release Media Contact:(202) 643-1136communications@blackallianceforpeace.com JULY 7, 2021—Unknown assailants overnight assassinating Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was a horrific act that should be condemned in no uncertain terms. Unfortunately, such violence is unsurprising. As the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) noted in its July 6 press release, Moïse’s actions since usurping power have brought Haiti to a boiling point, with heavily armed gangs being unleashed, both supported by and enabled by the Haitian elite and those international “friends” of Haiti, including the United States, the United Nations, the Core Group and the Organization of American States. What happens now is . . .

The Struggle for Palestine is Our Struggle.

The war waged by Israel, United States, and Europe on the Palestinian people is the same colonial war that was—and continues to be—waged on Africans worldwide. After the end of World War II, the UN, dominated by European countries, created the modern state of Israel for the European Jews who suffered under Hitler’s murderous regime. This settler-state, however, was not simply created out of thin air, but was formed by uprooting the Palestinians from their homeland and creating a poor attempt at legitimacy by dubbing it “Israel.”  Israel is the biblical land promised to the Jewish descendants of Abram (Abraham) . . .
