When France Extorted Haiti – the Greatest Heist in History

When France Extorted Haiti – the Greatest Heist in History The indemnity Haiti paid to France is the first and only time a formerly enslaved people were forced to compensate those who had once enslaved them. “The median annual income of a French family is $31,112, but it’s only $450 for a Haitian family.” In the wake of George Floyd’s killing, there have been calls for defunding police departments and demands for the removal of statues. The issue of reparations for slavery has also resurfaced. Much of the reparations debate has revolved around whether the United States and the United Kingdom should finally compensate some of their citizens for the . . .

NFAC 2020 - A procession of Africans dressed all in black, open carrying guns.

Symbolism & African (Black) Men (Mostly) With Guns

The video was circulating endlessly this past weekend.  Seemingly dozens of primarily African men (with a sprinkling of women) carrying semi-automatic weapons, marching, and chanting, in formation.  Apparently, headed for the Ku Klux Klan headquarters in rural Georgia, U.S.  It wasn’t clear what happened once or if they reached their destination, but its safe to say that the centuries old vision of African people putting the Klan out of their misery once and for all didn’t take place. For the most part, the reaction, primarily from colonized people, particularly African women, was support for this action.  And, for people who . . .

Community Control Vs. Defunding The Police: A Critical Analysis

Originally published: Black Agenda Report by Max Rameau and Netfa Freeman (June 10, 2020)    Defunding the police might end the armed and uniformed force as we know it, but the ruling class will then hire mercenaries to protect their wealth and enforce their will. The intensity and scope of the mass rebellion that has gripped the U.S. and expanded internationally has shaken global white supremacist capitalist patriarchy to its knees. The people have tasted a real sense of their own power and as a result some very unexpected developments have emerged. Among them is the demand to “defund the police,” . . .

Democrats Move Right and Towards Defeat

Besides not being Trump, the Democrats offer nothing but think they can win with a candidate who has no constituency, charisma, or any platform positions that would attract more voters. This presidential election season bears a striking resemblance to that of 2016. We were assured by pundits, pollsters, Democratic politicians, and million-dollar consultants that Donald Trump couldn’t possibly win. Except he did win and the aforementioned experts should have been discredited and forgotten. Four years later the same people who should have been ignored forever are again claiming that Trump is on the ropes. The endless and useless anti-Trump talking . . .

Rest in Power, Toyin Salau

For Toyin Salau

I feel a great rage for the African man that violated Toyin and took her life, but I understand he is a pure creation of the most evil global enemy this planet has ever known. He is a victim in his own way, doomed to a cycle of violence that only total revolution will break, though maybe too late for him. I feel a profound sadness and grief for Toyin’s light extinguished too soon but I also know that there will be many many thousands more women and girls who will suffer like her – new ones every day – until we defeat this enemy once and for all. . . .
