Reaction to Nancy Pelosi's ill-advised trip to Taiwan

How the US is Using Taiwan to Provoke a War with China

When the US House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, visited Taiwan on 2 August 2022, it predictably enraged China because the island of Taiwan is part of China. The visit was a condescending challenge to China (especially when it was backed up by a U.S. aircraft carrier battle group and military jets).  The Pentagon provided fighter jets as escorts for Pelosi’s congressional visit with an increased US naval presence. Two aircraft carriers, two amphibious assault ships, 36 warships and three submarines were in the vicinity of Taiwan.  US chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, declared that America’s armed . . .

BAP Condemns US Backed Massacre of African Migrants in Morocco

Video images captured the horrific actions of Moroccan security forces armed and trained by the United States through the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and working on behalf of the Spanish government, systematically beating and slaughtering African migrants on June 24, 2022. The migrants’ only crime was attempting to cross from Morocco to Europe via the Spanish held enclave of Melilla. For that, at least 39 human beings were beaten to death, as recorded by the NGO Walking Borders. This racist barbarism by a U.S.-backed neo-colonial regime and the lack of swift and unambiguous condemnation by the U.S. State demonstrates, yet . . .

Joe Biden speaks before NATO

Biden Means What He Says

Joe Biden may appear to be a confused old man when he blurts out whatever comes to mind.  But his outbursts shouldn’t be ignored. They always reveal his plans. “I mean what I say when I say it!” Those words were spoken by president elect Joe Biden in December 2020 during a meeting with a group described as “civil rights leaders.” Video of the meeting was leaked and Biden’s insulting and dismissive attitude towards Black people was clear even to those who ignored this tendency he has shown throughout his 50 years of public life. Biden did us a favor . . .

Eritrea Versus AFRICOM

The rapid expansion of AFRICOM on the African continent should be a cause for concern as African nations are quickly surrendering their sovereignty to the US. As the only country without a relationship to AFRICOM, Eritrea bears the brunt of US vilification. We must salute Eritrea’s ongoing project of national liberation. . . .

Join the Month of Action Against AFRICOM

The Black Alliance for Peace’s Africa Team and the U.S. Out of Africa Network are organizing an international month of action to raise the public’s awareness as a contribution to the effort to build a popular movement for demilitarization and anti-imperialism on the African continent. This month’s events will focus on raising the public’s awareness about the use of western military power to impose western control of African land, resources, and labor on behalf of the world’s corporations. AFRICOM continues to militarily occupy Africa, with thousands of U.S. troops now stationed in some 30 African countries with dozens of U.S. . . .
